There is nothing to be afraid of, Brother from the North.  People have just become more germophobic lately, and have tried to eliminate all contact with "dangerous" surfaces.  Because of this, they have less contact with your everyday germ, and their tolerance to these germs is weakened.  I see it every winter at my work.  Those people that spray their phones and use paper towels to open the bathroom door on their way out, those are the people that get sick.  And heaven forbid getting a flu shot.  That's just asking to become a virus target.  I sometimes put money in my mouth or lick the latches in public toilet stalls just to build up an even stronger immunity.

That being said, I can promise you that when in Canada, I will definitely skip the guac and salsa.  In fact I will skip the Canadian "Mexican" food completely.

Ok go Easy Joe Jack we have plenty of illegals running restaurants in Canada, thank you very much.  Funnily enough that story was also front page news on the EN Mini Edition.  As far as your immune system goes,  I will be sure to provide you viruses from my kid in an agar jar every Thursday for your licking pleasure.  As well, you are most certainly on Canada's watch list and if you try to gain entry to the country will no doubt be detained and have to watch re-runs of SCTV http://sctv.org/ until you poo yourself.  Finally, none of what you say explains why Rene gets food poisoning every week, and since it is well known he frequents large style mexican restaurants and eats the leftovers off of vacated tables I think we can guess the reason lies in the guacamole.
