Dunno who besides Paul cares about this but...

I just picked up a copy of the reissued version of Blue Oyster Cult's "Some Enchanted Evening," a live album which was never a particular favorite of mine. Always felt kinda like a throwaway since it contained just seven songs, two of which were covers.

The new version tacks on seven more songs, including killer versions of ME 262, Hot Rails to Hell and This Ain't the Summer of Love, AND includes an 11-song live DVD. It's just the kind of heft the original lacked, and taken together it stands up pretty well against their earlier live double album, "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees."

The footage on the DVD is pretty basic (looks like they only shot with two cameras), but the sound is stellar and I've got no complaints about the performance. There are blazing run-throughs of "Golden Age of Leather" and "Astronomy" -- and "5 Guitars" left me wishing Los Hermanos Bouchard were still in the band.

Nice to see Columbia decided to make the reissue something truly enchanted.

Awesome. I'll have to look for that one. The original was the first BOC record I ever bought...naturally because it only had seven songs so it was the cheapest one they had.

I learned from the liner notes from that it was their second best selling album behind "Agents of Fortune." Apparently there were lots of other thrifty shoppers among the BOC flock.
